Ducks Drop A Spot to Ninth at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

REDMOND, Wash. -- The Oregon women's golf team shot a 28-over par 316 to fall from eighth to ninth after two rounds of the Edhean Ihlanfeldt Invitational Tuesday at the par-72, 5,953-yard Sahalee Country Club.

No. 3 USC led by 12 strokes after Monday's opening round, but its lead was cut in half by No. 15 Arizona State Tuesday.

The Sun Devils shot a second-round best 294 to move six strokes back of the Women of Troy. No. 11 Tulsa and No. 16 UCLA are tied for third seven strokes back of USC, while No. 5 Stanford is 10 strokes back. The Ducks are 29 shots off the pace. California shot a 311 Tuesday to pass Oregon by three strokes.

Oregon senior Claire Hunter continued to be Oregon's top golfer after shooting a 6-over 78 that left her at plus-10 for the tournament and tied for 23rd. The native of Scotland has not finished higher than 28th in a tournament since she tied for fifth at the Oregon Invitational Sept. 27-28, 1999.

Freshman Katharina Schallenberg also shot a 78 and stands tied for 26th overall at plus-11.
