SEATTLE, Wash. - - The Oregon State women's golf squad shot a second round 328 at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational and is in 13th with a score of 650 at the par 72, 5,593-yard Sahalee Country Club in Seattle, Wash.

Senior Carina Olsson leads the way for the Beavers with her steady performance of 78-78--156. Olsson is in a three-way tie for 30th.

'It was a rough day,' head coach Rise Lakowske said. 'This is a demanding course, so the players were pressing and made some mistakes.'

Freshman Marylyn Brand shot a 159 and is tied for 40th after a second-round 81, while Stacie Ferguson is tied for 56th after a 164.

Kelly Ferris and Melanie Furuta are tied for 81st and 84th, respectively. Ferris carded a 173, and Furuta shot a two-round total of 174.

'Course management is a big factor when you're playing a course like this, and that's something we need to work on,' Lakowske said.

Southern California leads the way in the team competition with a 599, while Arizona State is six shots back at 605.

Stanford's Stephanie Keever fired a 2-under 142 to gain the inside track over Candie Kung of USC and Stacy Prammanasudh of Tulsa, as both shot 144 and are in second place.

The Beavers play their final 18 holes Wednesday morning, and will play two more tournaments this fall before a four-month break leading up to the Spring season. OSU competes in the Stanford Pepsi Invitational Oct. 20-22, and the New Mexico State Roadrunner Invitational Oct. 30-31.
