Dion Tears Lateral Maniscus in Right Knee

Oct. 11, 2000

EUGENE, Ore. - The injury bug bit the University of Oregon women's basketball team again, and this time it's senior Lindsey Dion, who tore the lateral mansicus cartilage in her right knee last Thursday.

Dion, who will be out for about six weeks, will have surgery Thursday morning.

She injured the knee while performing a running drill last Thursday at Autzen Stadium. Dion, a 5-foot-10 guard/forward, earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 honors last season after averaging 7.4 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.

In September, 1999-00 Pac-10 Player of the Year Shaquala Williams, a junior guard, tore her anterior cruciate ligament during a pickup game. She will be rehabilitating for the next five to eight months.
