For the second consecutive season, all eight teams competing in Pac-10 softball advanced to the postseason. Four teams went on to Oklahoma City to represent the Conference at the Women's College World Series. . . UCLA came away with the national runner-up trophy, marking the 13th consecutive season in which the Pac-10 has played for the national title. . . WASHINGTON won its second Pac-10 championship and held the No. 1 spot in the USA Today/NFCA poll for most of the season. In fact, all eight teams finished the season ranked in the top-18. . . Fifteen Pac-10 student-athletes were awarded All-America status by the NFCA, with Washington leading the way with three first team selections (Jennifer Spediacci, Jenny Topping, Jamie Graves).

ARIZONA - The Wildcats made their 13th trip to theWorld Series in 2000...Arizona won 34 straight games from February 6-March 19...JR P Becky Lemke (30-7) became the sixth different Wildcat to notch 30 wins in a single season. Her 84 career victories rank fourth on the Arizonacareer list, ninth on the Pac-10 career victory list...Lemke also recorded a school-best 19 strikeouts in a single game vs. Brigham Young...Head Coach Mike Candrea reached the 800-win plateau for his career. His record after 15 seasons stands at 807-165 (.830)...The Cats were the top hitting team in the nation with a .336 batting average.

ARIZONA STATE - Arizona State made their 13th postseason appearance...The Sun Devils No. 4 ranking in the USA Today/NFCA Poll tied their highest all-time...Erica Beach and Kara Brun both hit eight home runs on the season, breaking the school's previous single-season mark of seven...Beach, Brun, and Nichole Thompson were named to the Region 5 All-Tournament Team...Beach was also named first team All-Pacific Region while Kirsten Voak and Thompson were named to the second team...Voak set a new single-season record for wins with 30.

CALIFORNIA - The Bears have made back-to-back appearances in the World Series... Cal opened the season with 19 consecutive wins, the best start in school history...SR 2B Lisa Iancin broke the school record for doubles in a single season with 17...FR 1B Veronica Nelson broke the NCAA single-season record for walks with 87. Her 14 home runs also set a new Cal single-season standard...Head Coach Diane Ninemire reached a milestone by earning her 500th career victory. Her career record after 13 seasons stands at 543-299 (.645).

OREGON - The Ducks made their third consecutive appearance, sixth overall, in the NCAA postseason...SR OF Jill Robinson broke the school record for single-season home runs (15) and career home runs (32). She also established an OSU career mark with 154 runs.. SR OF Lindsay Welch broke the school record for RBI in a career with 142...FR P Andrea Vidlund threw the Ducks first no-hitter since 1998. She led the Oregon pitching staff with 17 victories.

OREGON STATE - The Beavers made their second trip to the postseason...OSU broke the school record for most doubles in a season with 65...SR P Tarrah Beyster set new school records for home runs in a single-season (15), home runs in a career (51), RBI in a single-season (43), and RBI in a career (142). Beyster established an NCAA career record with 206 walks...Beyster was named to the Pacific Region Team and the Region 3 All-Tournament Team...Joining her for Region 3 honors were Crystal Draper and Shawna Feldt...OSU posted it's first-ever win in Seattle over the top-ranked Huskies (May 13).

STANFORD - The Cardinal made their third postseason appearance...SO OF Jessica Mendoza finished the season with the nation's highest batting average (.475). She also broke several school career records along the way with 22 home runs, 98 RBI, and 26 stolen bases. Mendoza was named to the Region 8 All-Tournament Team as well as the All-Pacific Region first team...SO 1B Sarah Beeson was also named to the All-Pacific Region first team. FR P Dana Sorensen became only the third pitcher in school history to reach 20 wins. She also set a new NCAA postseason record with 15 strikeouts against Central Michigan in the Regionals...SR C Kellie Wiginton set new school records for at bats (762), hits (218), and runs (135).

UCLA - The Bruins reached the NCAA title game for the 14th time in school history...FR SS Natasha Watley established a school record with 32 stolen bases in 37 attempts... SO P Amanda Freed has posted 55 wins over the past two seasons for the Bruins...UCLA retired the #6 jersey of Head Coach Sue Enquist. Enquist was the first softball player inducted into the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame and led the Bruins to their first national championship in 1978.

WASHINGTON - The Huskies posted a school-best 62 wins during the 2000 season, and were rewarded with a fifth consecutive trip to the college world series. Among the 62 wins was a school record 23-game winning streak...FR C Jenny Topping was among the national leaders with 24 home runs and 90 RBI...SR P Jennifer Spediacci posted 34 wins this season, fifth most by a Pac-10 pitcher. She also posted a school-best 316 strikeouts last season, raising her career total to 894 strikeouts - second all-time on the Pac-10 career chart...The Huskies led all teams with three 1st team All-Americans (Topping, Spediacci and SR P Jamie Graves).
