Sun Devils Finish Second at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

REDMOND, Wash. - The Arizona State women's golf team shot a 18-over 306 Wednesday to finish third at the University of Washington's Edean Ihlanfeldt Golf Invitational held Oct. 9-11 at the Sahalee Country Club. ASU, ranked 15th in the latest national rankings, ended the first round in seventh place but carded the best second round with a 294 Tuesday before taking third in the final standings with a three-day total of 911.

No. 4 USC successfully defended its tournament title, winning the event with a three-day total of 896. Stanford shot a 299 in the final round to move into third place (908), followed by Arizona State (911), Pepperdine (913) and UCLA (914).

Individually, senior Molly Cooper and freshman Jimin Kang, both natives of the state of Washington, finished in a tie for eighth place with a three-day total of 225. Junior Lisa Meredith tied for 19th, sophomore Blair O'Neal finished in a tie for 32nd and senior Michaela Friberg tied for 79th. Stanford's Stephanie Keever and Tulsa's Stacy Prammanasudh tied for individual medalist honors with even-par 216s.

Arizona State returns to action Oct. 20-22 at the Stanford Intercollegiate in Palo Alto, Calif.
