Women's Golf Climbs to Second at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

REDMOND, Wash. - The Arizona State women's golf team shot a four-over par 294 Tuesday to climb to second at the University of Washington's Edean Ihlanfeldt Golf Invitational being held Oct. 9-11 at the Sahalee Country Club. ASU's 294 was the best round of the day and helped the Sun Devils climb to second from seventh.

USC continues to pace the team race with a six-stroke lead over the Sun Devils after shooting a 307 in the second round for a two-day total of 599. Tulsa and UCLA are tied for third at 606, while Stanford (609) rounds out the top five.

Senior Molly Cooper continued her strong play with a four-over 76 in the second round and a two-day total of 150 which puts her tied for sixth and eight strokes off the lead of Stanford's Stephanie Keever (70-72=142). Freshman Jimin Kang turned in an 72 Tuesday to move into a tie for 10th place (79-72=151), while junior Lisa Meredith is tied for 20th (78-75=153). Blair O'Neal rebounded from a rough first round with a one-under 71 Tuesday to move into a tie for 30th (85-71=156), and senior Michaela Friberg rounds out the Sun Devil squad with a two-day total of 168 (80-88) which puts her in a tie for 71st.
