Cal basketball more than just style

Take a quick look around This Is Cal Basketball and you'll see how much personality the team has- singing and dancing before games, coaches performing karaoke. When the Golden Bears step on to the court, the excitement and enthusiasm floods over with players gesturing to the Haas Pavilion faithful to get the crowd pumped up. Simply put, Cal has a lot of swag.

That said, there's much more to this team. After all, there was a lot to be excited about a 25-win season that ended in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Golden Bears were one of the best rebounding teams in the nation last year, finishing third in the country in rebounding margin.

This year, the Golden Bears return just about everyone from last year's team and are picked to finish second in the Pac-12 behind Stanford. And while coach Lindsay Gottlieb is more than on board with the videos and her team's style, she also wants Cal to be remembered for how they perform in games.

"I’m very much okay with the style factor being in there. I think that’s fun. I think players should have fun playing it and I think people should enjoy watching it," Gottlieb said. "I’ll open up the doors and cameras to see how we do things, but we need to go back that up on the court."
