Alaska Airlines Arena, commonly known as Hec Ed (for Hec Edmundson Pavilion), is not a place you want to play if you're not wearing purple and gold. No team has won more at a single facility than the Washington Huskies have at Hec Ed.

"That's partly like that because I think Hec Ed Pavilion was there when Abraham Lincoln was President," Washington coach Lorenzo Romar joked during Thursday' men's basketball media day at Pac-12 Networks HQ in San Francisco. He was referring to the building's 1927 original completion date.

Old building or not (it is, and was renovated in 2000), the Huskies have won 921 games on their home court and 85 percent of their home games at Hec Ed since Lorenzo Romar took over a decade ago. Arizona head coach Sean Miller labeled Washington the toughest place to play (outside of McKale, of course)- the fans in Seattle make sure their team has a decided home court advantage.

"It is also a fun place to play. It's very intimate," Romar said. "With the renovation back in 2000, I think it's made it a fun place to watch a game. It's definitely fun for our guys to play in it."
