Something is always going on in the chemistry lab that is USC coach Kevin O'Neill's office. Known for being a tireless worker, O'Neill is constantly devising new tactics to try to trip up future opponents. It's a big reason why Jio Fontan is such a huge supporter of his coach, whom he likens to a scientist.

"The schemes we come up with, they're usually not your basic schemes as far as how you go against your opponents; it's more broken down to a real scientific structure like I like to call it, and he does a great job of it," Fontan said at Thursday's men's basketball media day at Pac-12 Networks HQ in San Francisco. "His ability to lock in and kind of study the game tapes is deeper than I've ever seen any other coach do in my experiences."
