Utah basketball's 'ambassadors'

For the Utah Runnin' Utes, basketball isn't something you only do when you enter the Huntsman Center for practice or games; it's a way of life. Coach Larry Krystkowiak sees his players as mayors -- err -- ambassadors for the athletic department and the basketball program.

"I've changed the term, because it's a political term, and there's not always great mayors," Krystkowiak said at Thursday's men's basketball media day at Pac-12 Networks HQ in San Francisco.

"I personally talk about every day being a jump ball," Krystkowiak said. "We wake up in the morning, it's a jump ball. We're off to class, we're lifting, whatever it is we're doing.

"We put on our Utah gear and we're extremely proud to be where we are and treat people right and be ambassadors for our basketball program."
