DaVonté Lacy’s AIA Team Starts 3-0

KINGSTON, Jamaica – Washington State University men’s basketball rising-junior DaVonté Lacy has helped lead his Athletes in Action (AIA) team to a 3-0 record while competing in Jamaica.  In the first game against Kingston InterCol (Collegiate All-Starts), Lacy dished out a team-high 9 assists en route to a lopsided, 101-41 victory, Monday. Lacy added 6 points, 5 steals and 4 rebounds. Anthony Gill (University of Virginia) led the team with 19 points, followed by Jake Barnett’s (Saint Louis University) 17 points while adding 9 boards. The AIA team faced a stronger opponent Tuesday, taking on the Jamaican NBL All-Star Team. Lacy once again dished out 9 assists and added 2 points and 3 rebounds in a 68-45 victory. Barnett led the way with 11 points and 9 rebounds, while Gill and Davon Marshall (Liberty University) each added 11 points.  In its third game Wednesday, the AIA team faced the Jamaican NBL All-Star Team once again, defeating the squad for the second-consecutive day, this time an 88-56 victory. Lacy led the team in assists for the third-straight game, dishing out 7. He added 7 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals. Antwan Burrus (Liberty University) led the way with 16 points and 6 rebounds, followed by Gill with 14 points and 5 boards.  Athletes in Action has Thursday off before heading to Montego Bay, where the team will face the Jamaican Senior National Team on both Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 and 17.
