Former Ute Joins Networks’ Roster of Game Analysts for 2013 Season

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (August 27, 2013) – Former Utah Ute and NFL running back Jamal Anderson is the latest to join the Pac-12 Networks on-air roster as a football game analyst, it was announced today.

Anderson will make his broadcast booth debut with Pac-12 Networks at his alma mater Utah alongside play-by-play voice Matt McConnell, September 7 when the Utes face Weber State at 11:00 a.m. PT.

Prior to joining Pac-12 Networks, Anderson was an analyst on ESPN and ABC for the Networks’ coverage of Utah and Mountain West Conference football games in 2004. He has also served as a contributor for CNN, providing insight on the network's coverage of NFL and sports-related stories and has appeared on a variety of sports programs including ESPN’s First Take.  

Anderson played two seasons at Utah (1992-93) and led the Utes in rushing as a senior, averaging 5.7 yards per carry while rushing for 958 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns in 1993.

As a seventh-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 1994 NFL Draft, Anderson went on to play eight seasons for the Falcons, where he racked up 5,336 rush yards, 156 pass receptions and 41 total touchdowns. In 1998, he led Atlanta to a Super Bowl XXXIII appearance and was selected to the Pro Bowl as the NFC’s top rusher.
