Stanford's Tara VanDerveer earns 900th career coaching victory

Stanford head coach Tara VanDerveer joined truly elite company Wednesday, becoming just the fifth coach in women's college basketball history to record 900 career victories with the Cardinal's 83-59 win over Florida Gulf Coast. 

She joins legendary coaches Pat Summitt, Jody Conradt, C. Vivian Stringer and Sylvia Hatchell as members of the 900-win club.

During her tenure on The Farm, she's coached Stanford to 22 Pac-12 regular-season titles (including 13 in a row), 27 NCAA postseason showings (26 in a row), 20 Sweet 16 appearances (six straight), 16 Elite Eights, 11 Final Fours and four national championship game appearances, while cutting down the nets twice as national champions. She's also coached 20 All-Americans, 17 Pac-10/12 Player of the Year winners, 61 first-team All-Pac-10/12 selections and two Naismith Player of the Year winners as head coach at Stanford.
