Pac-12 Networks premiere of 'One-on-One: Lute Olson' Sunday, March 9 at 8 p.m. PT

"I was involved in coaching for 51 years and I never felt that I went to work one day." – Olson

The Pac-12 and its moniker, ‘Conference of Champions’ endures in part due to the numerous figures that have contributed to the legacy of the programs in which they were a part of as either a student-athlete or coach.

Pac-12 Networks looks to capture these stories in its new series One-on-One, giving viewers a glimpse into the life of an icon in the conference’s rich history.  Each episode will feature a Pac-12 Networks personality sitting down with a prominent figure of the Pac-12 for an in-depth interview that chronicles the personal and professional experiences that made them legendary. One-on-One pays homage to the pioneers that set a standard of excellence and laid the foundation for the conference of champions.

"Through the years, the Pac-12 Conference has produced a rich collection of iconic figures whose impact on their sports programs and schools continues to reverberate today,” said Michael Tolajian, Pac-12 Networks Senior Coordinating Producer of Original Productions. “It’s fun to sit down with them now -- to hear the personal stories and re-live the great memories that made their careers in the Pac-12 so special."

As the first installment of the new series premiering Sunday, March 9 at 8:00 p.m. PT, One-on-One: Lute Olson features Don MacLean sitting down with the former Arizona head coach for an enlightening 30-minute conversion on Olson’s life journey, and the events and people who had a part in shaping his Hall of Fame career.

Some of the topics Olson and MacLean discuss include his early childhood growing up on a farm in North Dakota, building a relationship with John Wooden early in his coaching career and the 1997 National Championship run with the Wildcats. Olson also shares his thoughts on his 51-year coaching career and his relationship with current Arizona head coach Sean Miller.

One-on-One: Lute Olson is a part of Pac-12 Networks’ slate of postseason men’s basketball programming highlighted by eight live game telecasts from the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament March 12-15.
