Emmy-nominated studio analyst serves as both host and producer on new series featuring the Pac-12’s top returning quarterbacks in 2014

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (April 14, 2014) – Before returning to the field this spring, the Pac-12’s top returning signal callers go 1-on-1 with Pac-12 Networks’ resident coach and quarterback guru in new series Under Center with Rick Neuheisel, premiering Wednesday, April 16 at 8:00 p.m. PT, exclusively on Pac-12 Networks.  

Under Center with Rick Neuheisel offers fans an inside look into the game preparation and personalities of their favorite quarterbacks. The series consists of five, 30-minute episodes featuring Neuheisel mentoring some of the Conference’s best QBs including Oregon State’s Sean Mannion (episode 1), Arizona State’s Taylor Kelly (episode 2) and Brett Hundley of UCLA (episode 3). Neuheisel takes each player into ‘The Dungeon’ for a lesson in film study, while outside the film room, discerns the intangibles and leadership traits of each young player that has designated them as the leader of their programs. 

As a former Pac-12 head football coach developing numerous players, as well as standout quarterback for the UCLA Bruins from 1980-1983, Neuheisel brings an extensive knowledge of the position and serves as producer and host on the series. In only his second season as a full-time studio analyst, Neuheisel’s broadcasting work has received numerous acclaim, including a Sports Emmy nomination this March in the ‘Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Analyst’ category.

With past and present names like Troy Aikman, Rodney Peete, Andrew Luck and Aaron Rodgers, it’s no secret the Pac-12 produces some of the best quarterbacks in the game year after year. 2014 is shaping up to be another banner season with Bleacher Report already crowning the Conference as having “the best collection of quarterbacks in college football” with Hundley and Oregon’s Marcus Mariota already considered early favorites for the Heisman Trophy.

Following the April 16 premiere episode focusing on Mannion, new installments of Under Center will debut the following four Wednesdays. The final two players will be announced at a later date.
