Pac-12 Networks announces 2014 men's soccer television schedule, featuring 23 exciting conference matchups

Soccer fans get front row seat for wide open race for Pac-12 title

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (June 17, 2014) – Pac-12 Networks today announced its 2014 men’s soccer television schedule that will feature 33 games, including 23 Pac-12 matchups, giving fans a front row seat for a Conference race that figures to go down to the wire.

Pac-12 Networks will feature ten non-conference games highlighted by a pair of marquee matchups between Top 25 teams: UC Santa Barbara at Stanford (September 9 at 7:00 p.m. PT) and Connecticut at Washington (September 12 at 7:30 p.m. PT). The live non-conference schedule begins on August 31 with Oregon State hosting Central Florida at 12:00 p.m. PT.

Another Top 25 showdown will be on display to open conference play when Cal visits Washington October 2 at 7:00 p.m. In fact, 21 of the 22 Conference telecasts will feature at least one ranked team.

UCLA (No. 3), Washington (No. 4), California (No.7) and Stanford (No. 23) all finished in the Top 25 a year ago and all secured Top 20 recruiting classes heading into this season. The mix of returning stars and young talent leaves the race for the Pac-12 title wide open. Washington won the league crown last year in the final week of the season.

UCLA, led by MAC Hermann Trophy finalist Leo Stolz and bolstered by the top rated recruiting class in the country, enters the season as the favorite. The Bruins finished second to Washington in the Pac-12 standings a year ago and made their 31st consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. The defending champion Huskies will be primed for a repeat after making their first ever trip to the Elite Eight. With a solid core returning, Washington also adds a highly rated recruiting class that includes attacking midfielder Henry Wingo from the Seattle Sounders Academy.

Each Pac-12 team will appear on the Networks at least nine times, with Washington leading the way with 12 appearances.
