Pac-12 Networks to premiere 'The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball' in January

Acclaimed all-access documentary franchise extends to the hardwood with eight all-access episodes covering all 12 Conference men’s basketball squads

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (October 23, 2014) – Following two successful production seasons surrounding Pac-12 football programs, Pac-12 Networks’ original documentary franchise will go on the hardwood and beyond with the premiere of The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball this season.

Similar to its football counterpart, The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball will go behind-the-scenes, giving fans a special look at their favorite teams and student-athletes with exclusive all-access footage. The unique aspect of the basketball series is that instead of the focus being on one or two teams, all 12 Conference men’s basketball programs will be featured across eight-episodes.

“There’s no question that The Drive has surpassed the expectations we had for the series in only its second season with football,” said Pac-12 Networks President Lydia Murphy-Stephans. “Our schools have taken notice of the high-quality filmmaking and storytelling that makes the series so special and we’re thrilled that all 12 programs will be featured as the series extends into basketball season.”

The full schedule for The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball will be announced later this basketball season.

Each episode will take viewers inside the locker room, practice, film sessions and games, with Pac-12 Network film crews capturing the ins and outs of their lives, both on and off the court. Senior Coordinating Producer Michael Tolajian will again lead the production team along with Emmy Award-winning producer Jim Jorden.

The 2014-15 Pac-12 Men’s Basketball season begins with 11 games on Friday, November 14, 10 of which will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks as much of its Full Court Friday lineup.
