Oregon's Johnathan Loyd becomes first to play in Pac-12 basketball and football title games

Oregon senior Johnathan Loyd is toward the end of his second life as a collegiate athlete. A year removed from leading the Ducks men's basketball team to a Pac-12 Tournament title, Loyd was acting as the football squad's punt return man on Friday night in the Pac-12 Championship Game that Oregon won, 51-13, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.

Loyd is the first athlete to play in both the basketball and football versions of a Pac-12 Championship game. He showed athleticism and shiftiness against the Arizona Wildcats at Levi's Stadium by taking four punt returns for 61 yards, two of which, as seen above, went for 20-plus-yard gains.

While he wasn't a superstar, Loyd certainly squeezed the most out of his college career. And, with the Ducks a virtual lock for a College Football Playoff spot, we might not have seen the last of Loyd on the gridiron.
