Telecast schedule kicks off featuring two top-15 programs on January 24 at 11 a.m. PT

SAN FRANCISCO (January 15, 2015) – Former Olympians Cynthia Potter, Rowdy Gaines, Michele Mitchell and Amy Van Dyken bring their expertise and wealth of knowledge to Pac-12 Networks’ junior season of swimming & diving coverage that features six unique events.

The action kicks off with a dual meet featuring the California men's and women's squads visiting Arizona on January 24 at 11 a.m. PT. Rich Burk has the call, alongside Gaines from Hillenbrand Aquatic Center.

Van Dyken, a former Arizona Wildcat and six-time Olympic gold medalist, makes her return for a second season as a swimming analyst for Pac-12 Networks. After severing her spine in an ATV accident during the summer of 2014, Van Dyken has inspired many through her rehabilitation process. Pac-12 Networks will feature her incredible recovery during her January 30 on-air return. Her prior broadcasting experience includes sideline reporting stints for the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos, as well as co-host of the nationally-syndicated radio program ‘FOX Sports Tonight’ with Rob Dibble.

Gaines joins Pac-12 Networks as an analyst for swimming & diving telecasts. He set world records in the 100-meter freestyle in 1981, the 200-meter freestyle in 1982 and capped off his career by winning three gold medals for the United States at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. He has been NBC’s Olympic swimming analyst since the 1992 Barcelona Games.

A two-time Olympic silver medalist, Mitchell won medals on the 10-meter platform at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, and the 1984 Games in Los Angeles. A Wildcat alumna, she was a four-time All-American and nine-time U.S. national champion. Mitchell holds the American Record for platform diving with 479.40 points for an eight-dive list. She was inducted into the University of Arizona Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988 and the International Swimming Hall of Fame in 1995. Mitchell also holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and a Masters in Sports Administration.

Potter, an Olympic Bronze medalist, four-time Olympic diving team member and International Swimming Hall-of-Famer, returns to provide analysis on Pac-12 Network swimming & diving telecasts. She has served as a color commentator on diving telecasts since 1988, including seven Olympic Games for NBC Sports.

Burk and Jason Knapp will rotate play-by-play duties alongside Gaines, Potter, Mitchell and Van Dyken.

The Pac-12 boasts 10 total swim teams among the preseason top 25, including both men’s and women’s powerhouse programs at Stanford and California. The Cal women, led by sophomore phenom and four-time Olympic Gold Medalist Missy Franklin, will make three regular season appearances on the Networks. The Cal women will host their Bay Area rival on Saturday, February 14 at 11 a.m. PT. On the men’s side, second-ranked Cal also appears once during the regular season.

The telecast schedule also includes complete coverage from the Pac-12 Swimming & Diving Championships for both men and women from Federal Way, WA. Airdates and times for the Pac-12 Championships will be announced at a later date.

All Pac-12 Networks broadcasts can be seen online at Pac-12.com/now and by using the Pac-12 Now mobile app for users with passwords from their TV provider.
