Pac-12 Networks receives pair of nominations for 36th annual Sports Emmy Awards

Networks repeat with Rick Neuheisel named among best in Outstanding Studio Analyst category and IP Production technology finalist in George Wensel Technical Achievement

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (March 24, 2015) – For the second straight year, Pac-12 Networks has been honored among its industry peers, receiving two nominations for the 36th Annual Sports Emmy Awards by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) this afternoon.

Rick Neuheisel joins Charles Barkley (TNT), Harold Reynolds (MLB Network) and Tom Verducci (MLB Network) in the ‘Outstanding Sports Personality – Studio Analyst’ category.

Additionally, Pac-12 Networks’ innovative IP Productions technology was recognized in The George Wensel Technical Achievement Award group, which honors the best in new technology innovations among sports networks. IP Productions is the groundbreaking technology that allows Pac-12 Networks to produce live games, package highlights and transmit multiple feeds simultaneously using Internet Protocol (IP). The technology makes for a streamlined, cost-savings technique that equates to unmatched flexibility and control across the Networks’ 850 live events and studio programming.

"It's exciting for our team at Pac-12 Networks to receive another two nominations from the Academy for the 36th Annual Sports Emmy Awards," said Lydia Murphy-Stephans, Pac-12 Networks president.  "From the onset, we welcomed innovative thinking, embraced new technology and created a spirit of collaboration that allowed us to accomplish amazing things in a very short period of time.  I am very proud of our team and the accolades we have received."

It’s déjà vu for the Networks, who earned its first two Sports Emmy nominations in these same categories in 2014. In its third season, Pac-12 Networks upped its live event productions from 750 to 850 over the 2014-15 collegiate athletic season, plus produced 12 original series including the documentary series The Drive, which expanded to cover both football and basketball.

Winners will be announced at the 36th Annual Sports Emmy Awards being held on Tuesday, May 5 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City.
