JuJu Smith-Schuster's first half against Idaho represented that of his Trojans.

USC led 38-3 by halftime of an eventual 59-9 blowout against the Vandals, and much of it had to do with the connection between Smith-Schuster and quarterback Cody Kessler. Smith-Schuster accounted for 139 yards on eight catches before halftime, which set career-highs for the sophomore receiver.

The biggest chunk of that total came on a 50-yard touchdown pass, where play-action opened up a deep pass from Kessler to Smith-Schuster, who caught the pass in stride on a post route.

Smith-Schuster would add another measly 53 receiving yards in the second half to finish with two touchdowns and 192 yards on 10 catches. For context: Smith-Schuster -- one of 14 USC players who caught passes -- accounted for a third of the Trojans' 30 receptions and 42 percent of their 453 yards through the air. USC produced 738 total yards on the evening.

Kessler, by the way, set a career-high with 410 passing yards himself before stepping aside for backup quarterback Max Browne early in the second half.
