Columbus, OH.- During day two of competition at the Ohio State Invitational,
Jack Burton put up an excellent showing for the Utes, winning the 100 breast and remaining undefeated this season in the event.
Burton took first place, touching in at 53.84 and earned his fifth-straight win this season in the event. On the women's side,
Stina Colleou took seventh with a time of 1:01.29 and
McKenna Gassaway was 15th (1:02.79).
In diving, Josiah Purrs stepped on the podium as he took second in the three-meter. He came away with a total score of 388.40.
Amanda Casillas took eighth on the one-meter, tallying a score of 269.00.
In the 100 back, Paul Unger claimed the third-place spot touching in at 47.91. On the women's side,
Shayla Archer took 14th with a time of 55.22.
In the men's 400 IM,
Evan Indahl finished fourth touching in at 3:54.01 while
Ethan Dillard was ninth (3:55.82). For the women,
Jordan Anderson took 11th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:12.67 and
Cassidy Stein was 19th (4:21.45).
Colten Montgomery took fourth in the 100 fly with a time of 47.99. Unger was sixth (48.25) with
Ben Scott in eighth (48.70) and
McKay King following in ninth (48.75). For the women,
Darby Wayner took 16th (54.66).
Another fourth-place finish for the Utes was put up by
Austin Phillips in the 200 free. He came away with a time of 1:37.24.
Sarah Lott took 14th (1:49.51) and
Dorien Butter was close behind in 16th (1:49.77) for the women's team
A team consisting of
Liam O'Haimhirgin, Phillips, Brendan Nyugen and
Rahiti De Vos took fourth in the 800 free relay coming away with a time of 6:34.07.
Jordan Anderson,
Sarah Lott, Butter and
Hailey Pabst took 18th (7:32.36).
The Utes head into their final day of competition tomorrow with preliminaries beginning at 9 a.m. EST.
