2017 Pac-12 Football Championship Game: Bryce Love – 'Be like him'

Some might call it a ho-hum night for Stanford’s Bryce Love. While he is humble himself, Love’s performance on Friday night was nothing of the sort.

#HeismanLove rumbled for 125 yards on 22 carries as Stanford fell 31-28 to USC in the Pac-12 Football Championship Game.

Visibly favoring one leg under the bright lights of Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, CA, Love put on the same game face as he has each contest before as he and the Cardinal attempted to dispatch the Trojans.

Love upped his season total to 1,973 rushing yards, passing Stanford great Toby Gerhart and trailing only Christian McCaffrey (2,019). #HeismanLove needs 47 yards in Stanford’s final game of the season to reach Greatest-Of-All-Time status in Card history.

With 12 50+ yard rushes this season to his name, Love has completed a feat no football player has ever done in FBS history.

While Stanford’s assured one more game this season, and Bryce Love has a trip to New York in his cards, the question remains: where will the Heisman voters place him?

David Shaw, the winningest coach in Stanford history, summed up his feelings succinctly: "I'm so proud of all of them. In particular, Bryce, being that young man that you want college football to be about and you can point to and say to my two young sons: 'Be like him.'"
