Head football coach Jonathan Smith announced the final two additions to his staff Wednesday. Greg Burns will serve as Smith's secondary coach and Michael Pitre will coach the running backs. Pitre was a standout at UCLA from 2004-06.

Oregon

More football coaching news from the Willamette Valley. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday that former Oregon HC Mark Helfrich has accepted a job as offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears. It'll be Helfrich's first NFL experience. Andrew Greif has more.

Cal men's soccer alum Nick Lima will get a chance to potentially represent Team USA on the pitch as he was one of 30 athletes invited to the USMNT January Camp held in Carson, California. The defender made 20 of 22 starts for the San Jose Earthquakes during his rookie season.

Men's basketball coach Tad Boyle will receive a one-year contract extension to stay in Boulder through the 2022-23 season, Pat Rooney reported Wednesday. The automatic contract addition is likely going to be approved by the Board of Regents in February.

The Trojans football program announced Wednesday that offensive lineman Toa Lobendahn and linebacker Cameron Smith will both return for their senior seasons. That's certainly good news for the Trojans, who earned the highest Pac-12 ranking (No. 12) in the final AP Top 25 poll this week

Chris Petersen hired Will Harris to serve as the Huskies' 10th assistant coach on Wednesday. Harris, who will move from San Jose State to Seattle, will coach the defensive backs.
