Washington State mourns loss of Tyler Hilinski to apparent suicide

According to multiple media reports, Washington State redshirt sophomore quarterback Tyler Hilinski has died of an apparent suicide. The Claremont, California native was found in his apartment by police Tuesday afternoon after he did not show up to practice earlier in the day.
Head football coach Mike Leach issued a statement via Washington State football's Twitter account:
“We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Tyler’s passing. He was an incredible young man and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him was better for it. The entire WSU community mourns as thoughts and prayers go out to his family” - Coach Leach regarding Tyler Hilinski
