Day 2 of the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals took center stage Saturday with Oregon State and Washington sitting a win away from punching their tickets to Omaha.

Corvallis Super Regional: Oregon State 6, Minnesota 3

Adley Rutschman stepped to the plate with the bases loaded in the ninth with the chance to be the Beavers' hero Saturday. The star sophomore delivered in a clutch way.

His two-out, two-strike single up the middle past the reach of the Minnesota second baseman's glove gave Oregon State its seventh College World Series berth before 4,025 fans at Goss Stadium. His hit scored Cadyn Grenier and Steven Kwan, both of whom had reached earlier in the inning on singles. 

Rutschman's at-bat came after Trevor Larnach struck out swinging with the bases loaded.  

The Beavers added another ninth-inning run after Minnesota reliever Jackson Rose hit two Beaver batters. Nick Madrigal scored to make it a 6-3 advantage.

Saturday's win marked yet another come-from-behind Oregon State win. Trailing 3-2 going into the eighth, Kyle Nobach singled to score Larnach, knotting up the game at three apiece. The offensive outburst backed Christian Chamberlain's strong relief effort. He replaced Bryce Fehmel, who allowed three runs over six innings of work as the game's starter. Chamberlain fanned five batters over two innings to receive the win.

Jake Mulholland sat down the Gophers in the ninth for the save.

The Beavers will meet North Carolina in their opening game in Omaha.

Fullerton Super Regional: Cal State Fullerton 5, Washington 2

It will come down to a winner-take-all Game 3.

The Huskies' offense sputtered in Game 2 and their chance to advance to the College World Series will come down to Sunday at 6 p.m. PT. The Titans — technically the away team in Saturday's battle — got to Washington starter Jordan Jones early in the contest. They tallied two runs in the second after notching a triple to lead off the inning. A double, single and a fielder's choice gave Cal State Fullerton a 2-0 advantage.

Joe Wainhouse was a bit of a one-man offensive show for the Huskies, accounting for both their runs with a pair of solo blasts in the second and ninth innings. They were his 18th and 19th homers of the season. The senior now has five longballs in UW's five postseason games.

Fullerton padded its lead in the fifth and chased Jones from the ballgame with a run-scoring triple and a single. Washington had a rally going in the second after recording a single and a hit by a pitch, but Kaiser Weiss flied out to end the rally. 

Willie MacIver finished the game 2-for-2. AJ Graffanino and Braiden Ward had the other two Husky hits. 

Nobody said it was going to be easy.
