Roundup: JT Daniels named starting quarterback at USC

USC

Freshman JT Daniels has been named the starting quarterback at USC, head coach Clay Helton announced Sunday (ESPN). Daniels beat out redshirt sophomore Matt Fink, redshirt freshman Jack Sears and redshirt sophomore Holden Thomas to get the gig. He becomes just the second true freshman to start a season-opener at USC, with the first being Matt Barkley in 2009.

UCLA

UCLA football has suspended six players for its season opener against Cincinnati – Soso Jamabo (two games), Devin Asiasi (three games), Osa Odighizuwa, Mo Osling, Moses Robinson-Carr and Boss Tagaloa (three games). Associated Press on the link with Thuc Nhi Nguyen and Nicole Auerbach also chipping in.

Arizona
