Roundup: "College GameDay" coming to Eugene for Oregon-Stanford
In case you didn’t hear, ESPN’s “College GameDay” will be in Eugene for the Pac-12 North showdown between No. 7 Stanford and No. 20 Oregon. Joel Odom of The Oregonian/OregonLive notes that Oregon is 7-2 when “College GameDay” is broadcast from Eugene (one of those losses was to Stanford back in 2012).
Kyle Bonagura reports that USC kicker Chase McGrath is out for the season with a torn ACL after trying to make a tackle on a Texas return of his blocked field goal attempt in the third quarter of the Longhorns’ 37-14 win over the Trojans.
Washington running back Myles Gaskin defended quarterback Jake Browning after the Huskies’ win over Utah (The Seattle Times). Browning had a head-scratching interception but also accounted for two touchdowns in a big road win to open conference play.

The Utes had some big chances go by the wayside, including a surefire pick-six that wasn’t because defensive lineman Pita Tonga fumbled the football out of bounds, which eventually led to a dropped pass just short of the goal line on fourth and goal that should have been a sure touchdown.
Good weekend for Colorado football and Colorado football alums – not only did the Buffs hammer New Hampshire 45-14 to get to 3-0, but Denver Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay set an NFL rookie record by becoming the first undrafted free agent in NFL history to amass 100-plus scrimmage yards in each of his first two games (NFL.com). Lindsay had 107 yards on 14 carries in the Broncos’ 20-19 win over the Oakland Raiders Sunday afternoon.
No. 1 Stanford women’s soccer had its 29-match winning streak snapped by drawing with No. 7 Santa Clara, 1-1 (Pac-12 Networks recap). That said, the Cardinal is now unbeaten in 30 straight games, a program record.

Oregon State unveiled its turnover chainsaw during its game at Nevada on Saturday (CBS Sports). The Beavers lost a close one, 37-35, but this chainsaw is freaking awesome.
