Stanford

Per ESPN Media Zone, the Stanford-Oregon football game was the most-watched ESPN/ABC Pac-12 game in almost four years, drawing a live audience of 4.259 million viewers. It was also the most-viewed primetime game last week.

Washington State

‘Twas a clean sweep of the Pac-12 weekly awards for Washington State women’s soccer, with Morgan Weaver being named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week, Aaqila McLyn being named Defensive Player of the Week and Rachel Thompson earning Goalkeeper of the Week honors for their roles in helping the Cougs upset then-No. 8 UCLA 1-0 to open conference play. The Cougs are a perfect 8-0 on the season.

Oregon

I normally don’t post links to subscription sites, but if you are a subscriber to The Athletic, I suggest you check out this profile of 84-year-old Oregon associate athletic director Herb Yamanaka, who graduated from Oregon in the 1950’s and has worked for the Ducks for 59 years. Send your thank-you notes to Tyson Alger for this one; great read.

Utah

Utah running backs coach Kiel McDonald told Dirk Facer of the Deseret News that running back Zack Moss is “getting more healthy every day,” noting that he’d like Moss to handle 20-25 carries per game soon.

UCLA

Thuc Nhi Nugyen gives us some personnel news regarding UCLA’s offensive line – Boss Tagaloa is returning to action following a three-game suspension (along with tight end Devin Asiasi), while Zach Sweeney is medically retiring due to a shoulder injury.

USC

Joey Kaufman notes that USC quarterback JT Daniels isn’t afraid to air it out, having completed 17 passes that have gone for 20-plus yards and connecting on eight throws of 40-plus yards (only one FBS quarterback has completed more 40-yard tosses). Believe in the JT Daniels hype, y’all. Can’t wait to see what this guy is like as a junior.

Washington

Adam Jude writes about Washington linebacker Ben Burr-Kirven’s speed in this piece for The Seattle Times. Burr-Kirven is the two-time defending Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week following a 20-tackle performance against Arizona State.

Arizona

Greg Hansen writes about how running back J.J. Taylor and tackle Layth Friekh have the Arizona offense clicking despite quarterback Khalil Tate not being at 100 percent. He deems it the “Mr. Tall and Short” offense.

Oregon State

Nick Daschel takes a quick look ahead at Oregon State’s upcoming game at Arizona State. The Beavs have lost 21 straight conference road games; does that streak get snapped this weekend?

Colorado

Check out this Colorado-UCLA game preview featuring our very own Mike Yam and Curtis Conway. Conference opener for both sides going down Friday night in Boulder.

California

Head coach Justin Wilcox doesn’t talk about Cal’s No. 24 national ranking with his team, writes Rusty Simmons. No time to worry about rankings when you have Oregon coming to town Saturday night.

Arizona State

Head coach Bobby Hurley says it’s time for Arizona State men’s basketball to put together a complete season (The Arizona Republic). The Sun Devils were spotless in non-conference play last year with some marquee wins that got it to No. 3 in the nation but went just 8-10 in conference play to sneak into the NCAA Tournament.
