Graham Hays of espnW features USC women’s soccer freshman Penelope Hocking, who he has in the running for player of the year. Hocking scored five goals over the weekend in a sweep of the Oregon schools and now has 12 for the season, second most among power-five conference players.

Oregon State

Oregon State men’s basketball forward Payton Dastrup will have to sit out this season after transferring from BYU, head coach Wayne Tinkle said Wednesday. Dastrup petitioned to be able to play immediately but that request was denied (The Register-Guard).

Washington

Washington football coach Chris Petersen has been at the center of some fake SEC drama due an imaginary quote attributed to him by some random Twitter person. Adam Jude lets us know that the CBS broadcast team for the Alabama-Tennessee game mentioned a tidbit about Petersen and the Dawgs scheduling to play Alabama. In actuality, Petersen never said that.

Colorado
