Oregon women’s basketball is ranked third in the preseason AP Top 25 poll that was released Wednesday morning. Other Pac-12 teams ranked are No. 7 Stanford, No. 8 Oregon State, No. 23 Arizona State and No. 24 Cal, with defending national champion Notre Dame at No. 1 and UConn No. 2.

Probably a little higher than expected, Washington State debuted at No. 8 in the initial College Football Playoff rankings (CougCenter). The Cougs are ranked No. 10 in the AP poll.

Arizona State softball pitcher G Juarez intends to transfer, she announced on Twitter Tuesday afternoon. Juarez was a first-team All-American as a sophomore in 2018, going 26-6 in the circle with an incredible 1.22 ERA.

The NFL trade deadline was Tuesday, and Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports that former Stanford wide receiver Ty Montgomery was traded by the Green Bay Packers to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2020 seventh-round draft pick. Montgomery unwittingly made headlines for deciding to return a punt out of the end zone in the final two minutes of the Packers’ game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday against the coaching staff’s wishes, fumbling the kickoff return with the Packers down two and essentially sealing a loss.
