Washington State

Theo Lawson writes that resiliency was a key factor in Washington State’s 19-13 win over Cal. Not a whole lot went right for the Cougs a good chunk of the night but they were able to push through to 8-1 and remain in control of the Pac-12 North.

Arizona

Following Arizona’s 42-34 win over Colorado Friday night, Michael Lev writes that “self-improvement” has been the key to the Wildcats getting into a three-way tie atop the Pac-12 South with USC and Utah (they lose the tiebreakers to both the Trojans and Utes, however).

Arizona State

Here’s what we learned from Arizona State’s 38-20 win over Utah, courtesy of Michelle Gardner of The Arizona Republic. They might currently be a half-game out of first in the Pac-12 South, but the Sun Devils control their own destiny to the Pac-12 Football Championship Game.

Washington

While we’re at it, here’s what we learned from Washington’s 27-23 win over Stanford, thanks to Adam Jude.

Colorado

Now losers of four in a row, Colorado football is trying to stay positive. The schedule certainly doesn’t let up with Washington State and Utah still on the ledger.

Oregon

Oregon re-established its running game in the 42-21 win over UCLA, writes James Crepea of The Oregonian/OregonLive. The Ducks rushed for 200 yards, led by the 90 of CJ Verdell on 25 carries (it had been a rough go of it on the ground the last two weeks in losses to Washington State and Arizona).

UCLA

Thuc Nhi Nguyen highlights UCLA’s issues on special teams in the loss to Oregon. The Bruins allowed a punt return for a touchdown, a successful fake punt for the Ducks and had a muffed punt that helped put them in a 21-0 hole right off the bat.

California

Cal rugby won the Pac 7s championship on Sunday, defeating Arizona 33-5 in the cup final to nab its sixth conference 7s title in the last seven years.

Stanford

Stanford men’s soccer clinched at least a share of the Pac-12 title by beating UCLA 1-0 in Los Angeles Sunday night and can win it outright by drawing with or defeating Cal Thursday night at home. The Cardinal has now won five straight Pac-12 titles.

Oregon State

The college basketball season officially gets underway this week, and Nick Daschel highlights the important home games in November for the Oregon State men’s and women’s basketball teams.

USC

In this 2018-19 season preview, Joey Kaufman writes that USC women’s basketball is motivated by last year’s NCAA Tournament snub. The Trojans were one of the first four teams left out of the Big Dance.

Utah

Be sure to give this 2018-19 Utah women’s basketball season primer a read. Send your thank-you notes to Kurt Kragthorpe for this one as Lynne Roberts enters her fourth season at the helm.
