Roundup: Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley out for remainder of regular season

Utah

Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley is out for the rest of the regular season but may be able to play in a bowl game, reports Kurt Kragthrope. Head coach Kyle Whittingham did not clarify the injury. Redshirt freshman Jason Shelley will get the starting nod Saturday against the Ducks.

Oregon

Oregon linebacker Kaulana Apelu is out for the rest of the regular season with a leg fracture, per head coach Mario Cristobal. James Crepea of The Oregonian/OregonLive has more details.

Oregon State

Oregon State has fired women’s soccer coach Linus Rhode after the Beavs went 2-17 in 2018 and did not score a goal in their last seven contests (The Oregonian/OregonLive). Rhode was 88-110-24 in 11 years as head coach at Oregon State, taking the Beavs to three NCAA Tournaments.

Arizona

Today marks the start of the college basketball season, and Bruce Pascoe tells us why Arizona men’s basketball will have a different look this year. That’s what happens when you lose all five starters from the previous season.

Arizona State

As for the Wildcats’ rivals, Arizona State forward Zylan Cheatham wants to lead his hometown team back to national prominence, notes Michelle Gardner. Cheatham, a Phoenix native, transferred to ASU from San Diego State and is eligible to play this year after sitting out last season.

Stanford

Stanford women’s basketball starts its season Wednesday night against UC Davis, and Tom FitzGerald writes that the Cardinal will be leaning on Alanna Smith and Kiana Williams to take the program to the Final Four.

Colorado

California

UCLA

The NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament field is set, and UCLA earned the No. 2 national seed (Stanford is No. 1). The Bruins get San Jose State in the first round Friday night. All in all, there are five Pac-12 teams in the NCAA tourney: Stanford, UCLA, USC, Arizona and Washington State.

USC

Meanwhile, USC women’s soccer is the No. 4 seed and will play Long Beach State in the first round Friday afternoon.

Washington State

Washington State receiver Drue Jackson is planning to transfer, he announced on Twitter Tuesday morning. Jackson, a freshman, was a four-star prospect coming out of high school but was buried in the depth chart at outside receiver.

Washington
