Arizona

Arizona men’s basketball honored Deandre Ayton on Thursday night by putting him in the Wildcats' Ring of Honor during halftime. More in the proceeding link from the Arizona Daily Star.

Oregon

Oregon men’s basketball’s Bol Bol is out for the rest of the season and will enter the NBA Draft, reports Jeff Borzello of ESPN. He has missed the last four games with a left foot injury and will begin rehab next week, per his attorney.

California

Cal cornerback Bryce Turner was hospitalized after suffering a “medical emergency near his family home,” per a statement released by his family. Kyle Bonagura has the story, as he notes that Turner was hospitalized after a workout on Sunday. Here’s the full statement, posted by Cal football’s Twitter account.

Arizona State

Tough loss to Utah for Arizona State men’s hoops, but that takes a back seat – Zylan Cheatham’s brother was shot and killed Saturday night. Michelle Gardner has the story in the link, as Cheatham scored 17 points on 4-of-5 3-point shooting in the Sun Devils’ 96-86 loss to Utah Thursday night in Tempe.

UCLA

During UCLA men’s basketball’s 92-70 win over Stanford, ESPN broadcaster and UCLA legend Bill Walton said he wants Barack Obama to coach the Bruins. Congrats to Murry Bartow for winning his first game as UCLA interim head coach – will it be enough to keep 44 from taking his gig? I think Obama might pass on Walton’s offer, but he is a big hoop head (Yahoo Sports on the link).

USC

Check out the Pac-12 Networks recap of USC men’s basketball’s 82-73 win over Cal Thursday night at Galen Center thanks to a career-high 27 points from Nick Rakocevic.

Colorado

Meanwhile, turnovers doomed the Buffs in the loss to the Wildcats, writes Pat Rooney. Colorado committed 17 turnovers Thursday night, which is obviously too many in a college game.

Oregon State

Over in Corvallis, Oregon State men’s basketball believes “it’ll have a say” in the Pac-12 race, writes Nick Daschel. The Beavs open up conference play in Eugene against the rival Ducks Saturday night.

Utah

Pac-12 women’s basketball resumes action Friday night, and Christopher Kamrani of The Salt Lake Tribune wonders if Utah can keep the magic rolling through conference play. The Utes are 12-0 with wins over two SEC schools and BYU but have an RPI of 56, not a bad number but one you’d expect to be a better with that kind of record. After starting Pac-12 play with a 76-61 win at Colorado, the Utes will have a chance to prove they’re for real in their Pac-12 home opener Friday against No. 22 Arizona State.

Washington

Percy Allen of The Seattle Times gives us a scouting report for the Washington-Oregon women’s basketball game Friday night in Eugene. Figures to be a tough one for the Dawgs.

Stanford

The NFL playoffs begin Saturday, and as the Indianapolis Colts get ready to take on the Houston Texans in a wild-card matchup in H-Town, Mike Wells of ESPN gives us a look at Andrew Luck’s “comeback season for the ages.” There were times when Luck thought he might not even be able to return to the field due to his bum right shoulder, but boy did he come back in a major way in 2018.

Washington State

Sweet – a Washington State senior is competing in “The Titan Games,” a new fitness reality show on NBC hosted by The Rock. Best of luck to Bridger Buckley as he hopes to bring home the $100,000 grand prize.
