Pac-12 women's gymnastics conference preseason poll

In a poll taken by the Conference’s eight women’s gymnastics head coaches, defending Pac-12 Champion UCLA was selected as the preseason favorite to capture the 2020 Pac-12 title for the third consecutive year. UCLA was selected to defend its Conference title as it received five first-place votes. UTAH finished second as it collected the remaining three first-place votes. Both teams have battled for the Conference crown the last few years, the Bruins winning in 2018 and 2019, the Utes in 2014, 2015 and 2017. CALIFORNIA finished third in the poll with 36 points.

In a battle for fourth was OREGON STATE with 32 points and WASHINGTON with 25 points. In sixth and seventh were ARIZONA STATE with 21 points and STANFORD with 12 points. Rounding out the poll was ARIZONA with 7 points.

The USA Gymnastics also released its national preseason poll and seven of the Pac-12 teams appear in the top 25. Three Pac-12 programs finished in the top 10 with the Bruins in fourth with 1,671 points, the Utes in fifth with 1,559 points, and the Golden Bears capturing ninth with 1,315 points. Oregon State and Washington were 11th and 17th in the poll, respectively, the Beavers picked up 1,271 points and the Huskies with 925 points. Arizona State was 21st in the poll with 749 points and Stanford was 22nd with 746 points.

The 2020 season is set to begin on Friday, Jan. 3. Pac-12 gymnastics will be featured on Pac-12 Networks and ESPN throughout the season, including the 2020 Pac-12 Championships to take place on March 21, 2020, at the Maverick Center in West Valley City, Utah.
