• Pac-12 season is fully underway with all 12 teams playing Conference games as No. 2/2 OREGON, No. 3/3 OREGON STATE, No. 5/4 STANFORD and CALIFORNIA jump into the league slate. The first top-20 league matchup of 2020 takes place this week with currently-undefeated teams No. 18/18 ARIZONA and No. 10/10 UCLA clashing on Sunday, Jan. 5. Every game this week is televised on Pac-12 Networks.

• Five Pac-12 teams continue to be ranked in the national polls, with the Ducks leading the league at No. 2/2 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/WBCA Coaches polls, also receiving several first-place votes. Oregon State remains at No. 3/3, also garnering votes for the top spot, and Stanford comes in at No. 5/4. Also unchanged are No. 10/10 UCLA and No. 18/18 Arizona. COLORADO and ARIZONA STATE are receiving votes.

• Four Pac-12 teams are among the final nine that are still undefeated in the country, each standing at 12-0, tied for the second-most wins in the country (as of Dec. 31). The Wildcats have pushed their season-opening winning streak to a school-record and nation-leading 18, dating back to last year’s WNIT Championship run. The Bruins also tied their best start to a season, winning their 12th in a row, tying the 1980-81 team’s feat. The Buffs have also gotten off to a 12-0 start, matching its best start since 2011-12 and also matching its season win total from a year ago. Oregon State’s 12-0 mark is also a program record.

• Oregon is the only league team with a non-conference game still remaining on the schedule but every Pac-12 team still ends the non-conference portion of the season with a winning record, posting at least seven wins. The Pac-12 boasts the best non-conference winning percentage in the country at .838 (114-22).

• Oregon’s Ruthy Hebard needs just 15 points to become the 12th student-athlete in Pac-12 history with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, and is the second in the NCAA this season to reach the 2,000-point threshold. Teammate Sabrina Ionescu, who was the first to reach 2,000 points, needs just seven assists to become the 12th player in NCAA Div. I women’s basketball history with 900 assists.

• Arizona’s Cate Reese was named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the second time after helping the Wildcats to their first win in Tempe since 2000. Colorado’s Jaylyn Sherrod led Colorado to its first league win, en route to Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors. Both were honorable mentions for national weekly recognitions.

• Hall of Fame head coach, Stanford’s Tara VanDerveer is approaching 500 wins in the Pac-12/10 and would become the first women’s basketball head coach with that many wins in a single conference. Connecticut’s Geno Auriemma has over 500 league wins but 102 are AAC wins and 402 came when UConn was a member of the Big East.

ROAD TO NEW ORLEANS
Teams across the country will be focused on getting to New Orleans this season, the site of the 2020 NCAA Women’s Final Four on April 3 and 5. To get to New Orleans, teams will have to go through regional sites in Greenville, S.C., Fort Wayne, Ind., Portland, Ore., and Dallas, Texas. Oregon State hosts the Portland Regional for the second year in a row from March 27-March 30, 2020, with specific dates to be announced. The first and second round of the tournament will take place on 16 campus sites with the top-16 seeds hosting, March 19-22, 2020.. The top 64 teams will learn their fates in the broadcast of the annual selection show on Monday, March 16, 2020.
