Pac-12 announces men's swimmer and diver of the week

SAN FRANCISCO — The Conference office announced today that Alexei Sancov of USC was named Pac-12 Men's Swimmer of the Week and UTAH’s Tony Chen was voted Pac-12 Men’s Diver of the Week.

MEN’S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK: Alexei Sancov, So., USC (Walnut Creek, Calif.)
Sancov earned two wins for USC at the home-hosted meet against Minnesota last week. The sophomore swimmer opened the day with a time of 1:38.07 to win the 200-yard freestyle, and closed out the day with a top time of 1:50.81 in the 200-yard individual medley. Sancov was also named Pac-12 Swimmer of the Month in November.

MEN’S DIVER OF THE WEEK: Tony Chen, So., Utah (Cypress, Calif.)
Chen had a strong start at the UCLA Diving Invitational last week, capturing the 3-meter springboard title with a score of 742.50 on the first day of competition. The California native capped off the meet with a score of 608.70 and fourth place finish in the 1-meter springboard.  Chen earns his first-career diver of the week honor.
