WSU's Elleby, Utah's Carlson selected Pac-12 Men's Basketball weekly honorees

WASHINGTON STATE's CJ Elleby was voted Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week and UTAH's Branden Carlson was tabbed Freshman of the Week as voted on by media who cover the league.

• Scored a career-high 34 points and added 10 rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season as Washington State snapped a four-game Apple Cup skid by beating rival Washington, 79-67.
• The Seattle native made 9-of-16 shots, including a career-best six 3-pointers, along with a perfect 10-for-10 effort at the foul line. Also matched a career-best with three blocks.
• Performance helped WSU improve to 14-10 overall, its most total wins since 2011-12, and 5-6 in Pac-12 play, its most league wins since 2014-15.
• Second weekly honor this season, is the first Cougar to win multiple awards in a season since Brock Motum in 2012-13.

Pac-12 Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week (2/10/20)
Branden Carlson, Utah

• Averaged 10.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 blocks as Utah swept the Bay Area schools to improve to 10-1 at home this season.
• Weekly performance was highlighted by 15-point, 10-rebound, eight-block outing in 64-56 victory over Stanford. It was his first collegiate double-double.
• Per College Basketball Reference, he became the sixth NCAA Division I player this season to record a line of 15 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks, including only the second freshman (O. Okongwu, USC).
• Eight blocks is tied for the most in a game in the Pac-12 in 2019-20, and tied for the sixth-most by any player and most by a freshman nationally this season.
