• Just three weeks remain in the regular season and teams are jockeying for position in a tough league that boasts the No. 1 Conference RPI, 10 teams with RPI better than 100 and six nationally-ranked teams. With still plenty of games left to be played, Pac-12 teams look to clinch a top-four seed and a first-round bye at the Pac-12 Tournament at Mandalay Events Center in Las Vegas, March 5-8.

 

• For the fifth week in a row, the Pac-12 has six teams ranked in the polls with five appearing in the top 12. The Ducks are No. 3 in both the Associated Press and USA Today/WBCA Coaches polls, receiving three first-place vote by the coaches. UCLA is No. 7 in the AP and No. 8 in the coaches poll, while STANFORD comes in at No. 8/7. OREGON STATE slipped to No. 11/11 and ARIZONA is close behind at No. 12/12. ARIZONA STATE rounds out the six at No. 22/24.

 

• The Bruins prepare to host a pair of top-15 showdowns, facing league-leading Ducks, who have won their last 10, on Friday, Feb. 14 on Pac-12 Networks. UCLA will then turnaround to face OSU on Monday, Feb. 17 on ESPN2.

 

• A national-best nine from the Pac-12 were named to the Citizen Naismith Trophy Midseason Team. Five league teams are represented on the list, including Oregon which had three players named. Oregon State and Stanford each had two named, including a newcomer to the list, the Cardinal’s Lexie Hull. Arizona and UCLA each had one named, as well.

 

• UCLA’s Michaela Onyenwere, a Naismith Trophy midseason honoree, was voted the Pac-12 Player of the Week after leading the Bruins to a top-10 upset last week. UTAH’s Brynna Maxwell was tabbed the Pac-12 Freshman of the Week after helping the Utes to a pair of victories.

 

• No. 5 all-time in the NCAA, Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu needs just three assists for her career No. 1,000. Only four players in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history have reached the milestone. With that that milestone, she would also become just the second player in NCAA women’s basketball DI history with 2,000 points and 1,000 assists. Only Courtney Vandersloot has achieved that feat when she played for current Ducks head coach Kelly Graves at Gonzaga from 2008-11.

 

• Oregon’s Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard, and Oregon State’s Mikayla Pivec were named finalists for the Senior CLASS Award, presented to the top senior with notable achievements on and off the court.

 

• Five Pac-12 student-athletes appear on the first two Basketball Hall of Fame/ WBCA watch lists which were narrowed to 10 each and were announced this week. Fan voting for the “Starting Five” opens on Friday.
