Stanford leads after Day 3 of competition at Pac-12 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships

Day 3 of the 2020 Pac-12 Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships included the men’s platform, women’s 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, women’s 3-meter event and 200-yard medley relay. Stanford leads with 1,027 total points after 14 events. Highlights from the night include USC’s Louise Hansson winning her fourth-consecutive 100-yard butterfly Pac-12 title. Stanford’s Brooke Forde won the 400-yard individual medley with the new-fastest time in the country of 4:01.53.

Men’s platform diving
• Arizona freshman Bjorn Markentin won the men’s platform diving event with his season-best score of 384.70.
• Markentin bested second place, Georgii Korovin of USC (374.00) by 10.70 points.

400-yard individual medley 
• Brooke Forde of Stanford won the 400-yard individual medley with her time of 4:01.53.
• Forde recorded the fastest time in the country this year, shedding five seconds off of her prelims time.
• Forde’s winning time was also a season-high.

100-yard butterfly
• USC’s Louise Hansson won the 100-yard butterfly in exciting fashion with her time of 49.94.
• The win marked Hansson’s fourth-consecutive Pac-12 title in the event.
• Hansson is the NCAA record holder in the 100 fly.

200-yard freestyle
• USC’s Laticia Transom claimed the 200-yard freestyle title with her time of 1:42.47. 
• In a final heat jam-packed with talent, Transom logged the fifth-fastest time in the country this year.

100-yard breaststroke 
• The top-seed into finals, Stanford’s Allie Raab won the 100-yard breastroke with her time of 59.35.
• Raab logged the 16th-fastest time in the country (59.34) earlier in the day during prelims and finished with a nearly-identical finals time.

100-yard backstroke
• California’s Izzy Ivey claimed the 100-yard backstroke title with her time of 51.06, beating out teammate Keaton Blovad by 0.54 seconds.
• Ivey shaved 0.74 off of her prelims time from earlier in the day.

Women’s 3-meter diving
• Stanford’s Carolina Sculti won the 3-meter diving competition with her score of 378.55.
• Sculti set a season-best with her score, and improved upon her prelims score by over 10 points.

200-yard medley relay
• Stanford’s squad of Lucie Nordmann, Allie Raab, Emma Wheal and Anya Goeders took the last title of competition during Day 3 in the 200-yard medley relay.
• Stanford posted an NCAA A-mark time and bested second-place California who finished with a time of 1:36.45.
