SAN FRANCISCO - This week, Pac-12 Networks is bringing fans exclusive interviews from scientific professionals from around the league about the effects of COVID-19 on the universities and our communities as part of “Science Week.” Tonight, hosts Ashley Adamson and Mike Yam sit down with Dr. Stephanie Chu and Dr. Kate Starbird on a brand-new installment of “Pac-12 Playlist,” presented by New York Life, airing at 7 p.m. PT / 8 p.m. MT on Pac-12 Network.

Dr. Chu, who is the team physician for Colorado and serves on the NCAA COVID-19 Advisory Board, discusses necessary protocols for getting student-athletes back to campus while ensuring their safety. Dr. Chu also addresses the NCAA guidelines that talk about when athletic departments can reopen, as well as the testing requirements for student-athletes.

Adamson also chats with Dr. Starbird, who is a former Stanford women’s basketball standout from 1994-97 and a current associate professor at Washington. Dr. Starbird, who was the 1997 Naismith College Player of the Year, talks about how social media and a flood of misinformation is shaping the public’s perception on COVID-19, and gives ways we can safely inform ourselves during the pandemic.
