Recapping 2020 Teacher Appreciation Week in the Pac-12

May 4-8, 2020
Pac-12 Kids Activity Workbook
To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week and in an effort to provide further support for teachers utilizing distance learning techniques across the Pac-12 footprint and beyond, the Pac-12 provided a digital workbook for elementary-aged children.
The Activity Book is a fun and free resource aimed towards contributing to teachers adaptation to remote learning. The book was shared on the College Football Playoffs Extra Yard for Teachers resource guide webpage along with the Pac-12 website and school districts across the Pac-12 footprint.
University Mascot / Cheer Surprise Teachers
In partnership between The College Football Playoffs Extra Yard for Teachers and the Pac-12 Conference, the Universities identified teachers in their local communities that have gone above and beyond as they pivoted from in class to distance learning.
With the help of the @pac12 and @CFPExtraYard for Teachers initiative, we were able to gift $500 to a local teacher to use in enhancing their distance learning.

Teacher Appreciation Week Twitter Highlights
The Pac-12 circled back to check in on teachers that we partnered with leading into the 2019 Football Championship Game to celebrate the The College Football Playoffs Extra Yard for Teachers program.
When asked how they are coping with the adjustment to distance learning, teachers stated that they are getting creative; utilizing Zoom calls, digitally sharing students' artwork, and sending their students supplies such as playing cards and crayons in an effort to adapt to these trying times.
To thank the Teachers for all they’ve done to alter how they educate and to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, 3 of the 7 teachers highlighted were drawn at random to receive a $500 Donors Choose gift card to aid in their remote teaching needs.
