Sewell, Weaver, and Anae lead Pac-12 Football All-America selections
SAN FRANCISCO —The Pac-12 Conference had a strong presence on the college football All-America squads with 13 student-athletes earning All-America honors. The list of players was led by OREGON sophomore OL Penei Sewell and CALIFORNIA senior LB Evan Weaver who were unanimous All-America selections, while UTAH senior DE Bradlee Anae earned consensus All-America recognition.
Ten other Pac-12 football players earned second team recognition by at least one of the major selectors. USC senior WR Michael Pittman Jr. was tabbed second team All-America by four organizations, with OREGON STATE junior LB Hamilcar Rashed Jr. picking up second team honors by three organizations.
To earn consensus honors, one must be selected first team on at least three of the five All-America teams and be listed on the most first-team All-America teams relative to other players at that position. For positions with more than one player represented on the first team, a corresponding number of players may earn a consensus billing. The organizations used in the consensus chart - American Football Coaches Association (AFCA), Associated Press (AP), Football Writers Association of America (FWAA), The Sporting News (SN), and Walter Camp Football Foundation (WC).
