The Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being Board advises, governs, oversees policy and direction, and assists with the leadership and general promotion of the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being Initiative in an effort to effectively address medical, safety and well-being issues facing Pac-12 student-athletes. The Research Grant Program Committee provides guidance for the coordination and administration of the Pac-12 Grant Program RFP, proposal submission, and review process. The Grant Committee reviews the top rated proposals from each grant cycle and provides funding recommendations to the Board. In addition, the Pac-12 Grants Committee oversees the activities of the Pac-12 Grant Administrator who facilitates the complete process from the RFP announcement to project completion. The Pac-12 Brain Trauma Task Force advises the Board and the Pac-12 Conference on brain health, awareness of injury risk, and trauma care across all collegiate sports. The task force also reviews injury trends, new technology, and ongoing studies on behalf of the Board for all Pac-12 sports. See the task force roster below.
The Pac-12 Health Analytics Program (HAP) is dedicated to providing an innovative, collaborative environment that nurtures the development of sports-injury and related knowledge among the sports medicine community in the Pac -12 Conference. The HAP platform provides data-driven insights to support pioneering initiatives within sports injury prevention, research, and student-athlete well-being throughout the Pac-12 Conference.
The Student-Athlete Health Conference Committee sets the agenda, runs logistics, and manages the annual Pac-12 Student-Athlete Health Conference. See the roster of committee members below.
The Grant Proposal Review Committee prepares written reviews with proposal scoring and funding recommendations, and provides to the Research Grant Program Committee. Reviewers are tasked with providing a fair, detailed evaluation of what proposals are the most responsive to the Pac-12’s needs within available resources. Each committee member serves as Lead or Secondary reviewers on three to six proposals and as General Reviewers on the remaining proposals submitted during each review cycle. The Pac-12 Mental Health Task Force, which is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of practitioners from member institutions, serves as a resource to the Pac-12 on educational initiatives, applied research, and best practices to advance the mental health and wellbeing of collegiate athletes.
The Pac-12 Student-Athlete Campus Advocates work collaboratively with their Student-Athlete Health and Well-Being Board member, helping to shepherd and provide guidance for the timely and appropriate routing, review and execution of documents related to awarded project execution.
